In marked contrast to a year of tumultuous weather events, Mother Nature is giving us a rather mild and merry Christmas. As befits this special day, the seasonably chilly air of early this morning is moderating as we aim for highs in the low to mid 50s under mostly sunny skies. Lighter southwesterly breezes will replace the often gusty northwesterly winds of Saturday, thus bringing yet more joy to our weather world! A front later tonight will turn our winds again to the north and bring in cooler temperatures on Monday, but no precipitation is expected. Rain looms on the horizon however for Tuesday as a low pressure system currently to the southwest draws nearer; any amount of rain that falls will add to what has been a very wet month and indeed a very wet year with a 7-inch surplus to date. Enjoy your Christmas and this gift of a day!
