A weather front will move through the atmosphere of the listening area overnight and this may induce a few light showers across the region. This weather front will linger within the vicinity of the Mid-Atlantic through mid-week keeping the chance of rain in the forecast for Wednesday as milder air pushes in keeping our daytime high temperatures above average for Wednesday, Thursday and a portion of Friday. Thursday looks like it will be dry but opportunities for rain showers comes back in again for Friday and Christmas Eve (Saturday).
SEASONAL NOTE: Astronomical Winter arrives with the Winter Solstice at 12:30AM on Thursday. Our darkest period of the year occurs this week as the 21st and 22nd of December will be the two days this year with the least amount of daylight hours and minutes. There will only be 9 hours and 26 minutes of daylight on the 21st and 22nd (out of our 24 hour day), we will start to gain daylight hours and minutes on the 23rd.
