High pressure will move away from the mid-Atlantic overnight and into Monday. With the shift, milder air will overspread the area allowing highs to jump into the upper 50s to lower 60s. An approaching cold front will bring increasing clouds by Monday afternoon and periods of rain and showers by Tuesday.
With cooler air in place, low pressure may develop to the south of the D.C. metro Wednesday and Thursday. The models are somewhat inconsistent at this point as to exactly where and when this may develop. At this point, it appears temperatures will be cold enough to allow for a few flakes of snow in the mountains. Worth watching, but don't get your hopes up.
