High pressure will bring a cool and sunny weekend to the D.C. area with slightly below average temperatures.

This Afternoon: Mostly Sunny and Cool

Highs: 40s | Wind: North 5-10 mph

Overnight: Mainly Clear and Cold

Lows: 22°-30° | Wind: North 5-10 mph

Sunday: Mostly Sunny and Chilly

Highs: 40°-45° | Wind: North 3-8 mph

A cold front has passed the mid-Atlantic leaving just a few high clouds behind. Under mostly sunny skies, afternoon temperatures will be in the 40s with diminishing winds. Overnight lows will fall into the 20s under a bright moon. After another cold day tomorrow, temperatures will start to trend in a warmer direction for the upcoming week with unsettled weather possible Thursday and Friday.
