Clouds will dissipate during the evening and overnight hours as an area of high pressure briefly builds across the mid-Atlantic. Overnight lows will be in 20s with slightly milder temperatures in the District and closer to the Chesapeake Bay.
Monday brings sunshine and highs near 50 degrees. Clouds will increase by evening as an approaching system takes shape. Tuesday features highs in the middle to upper 40s and a chance for showers. A frontal system will stall across the area on Wednesday allowing for a wide high temperature swing. While Hagerstown and areas north and west will see highs in the 40s, the District should hit the upper 50s with lower 60s possible near Fredericksburg.
Cooler air and another system will bring unsettled weather again on Friday. At the point, the chances for the immediate D.C. area having a white Christmas: zero.
