With overnight lows just just a few degrees shy of our daily average high for this time of year, one has to wonder where all the cold air has been this winter? Don't worry, the cold air (and winter winds) are on the way!

With just a few clouds, temperatures early Sunday morning will drop to the upper 30s to lower 40s. New Year's Day will features abundant sunshine and afternoon highs jumping well into the upper 50s to lower 60s. A strong cold front arrives late Sunday night allowing for cold air to filter across the mid-Atlantic on Monday with the coldest of days on Tuesday. Strong northwesterly winds will drop wind chills into the single digits to lower teens. The surge of cold air will be short lived as milder temperatures are back in the forecast for the end of the week. Highs by next weekend will be back in the 50s.
