We are forecasting unseasonably mild temperatures for the last two days of 2011 and the first day of 2012. But then much colder air will arrive…the coldest air of the season to date. High temperatures will reach the 50s today, tomorrow and Sunday before arctic air invades the region. Strong winds will accompany the new air mass and that will make it feel even colder. December will go in the books with above average temperatures. Even though a cold snap is approaching, I do not believe this is the beginning of a pattern change that will last through the month of January. Instead, I think we will quickly return to an above average temperature pattern.
