It's nice to see sunshine back today but a storm developing in the south will rapidly move very near us late tonight. The mild pattern continues so this will be another rain producer. Some areas west and north of D.C. could pick up 1 inch or more rain from 10 p.m. until early Friday morning. Behind the storm drier air and cooler but still no sign of any really cold air coming. Next storminess stays to our south and weekend travel weather in the east looks fine. Christmas Day right now looks sunny and near 50.
