Tomorrow: Some sun, breezy and cold with flurries

At this writing it is -38 degrees F in Fairbanks...just want to keep our cold morning in perspective. Not only did we have the rude awakening of temperatures in the 20s and wind chills in the teens, we also have seen some moderate snow showers and squalls north of west of metro Washington. That was enough to slicken roadways and give folks a stark reality check. It is January!
Temperatures will drop into the teens tonight. It will be the coldest night of the season. But the core of cold air will start to move out during the day tomorrow. A slow but steady warming trend will begin and by Friday, we will once again see temperatures approaching 50 degrees.
