As cold, gusty winds persist after last nights cold frontal passage, areas of light snow and flurries continue well north and west of Washington. It is not out of the question flurries could get close to the city later this morning. Otherwise, skies will be partly to occasionally mostly.
Temperatures will remain near steady or even fall a couple degrees during the day. Next up..an upper level disturbance could bring a few flurries or patches of light snow again late tomorrow. Another surge of chilly air will arrive on Friday.
For the weekend, we have a 50/50 chance of rain on Saturday. This probability will be better defined over the next 36 hours. Right now, based on the timing of onset, some areas could see a mix of rain and snow. Otherwise, rain will be the predominant type on Saturday if it all comes together.
Last night, I mentioned on ABC7 News that I have a hunch that this mild winter may start to feel more like a real winter next month...just a hunch. As soon as some data starts to back that up or contradict my intuition, I'll let you know.
