The crazy winter of 2011-12 continues. It won't take much sunshine to push temperatures to the 60 degree mark today. Even without much sunshine, temperatures will still climb through the 50s. Late tonight and overnight, winter weather returns. A strong cold front will cross the region and may produce a period of rain/sleet/snow...you know, the dreaded wintry mix. As temperatures fall, there is a chance of a light coating in places especially north and west of Washington. If this happens and if temperatures are cold enough, it could create some slippery conditions before the morning rush. We'll watch that closely for you.
Through the Dr. Martin Luther King holiday weekend, we expect cold weather with daily highs in the upper 30s under partly cloudy skies. There is a chance we'll see some flurries Sunday afternoon or evening.
