Our amazing seasonal defiance continues as yesterday's 63 degree high - a whopping 20 degrees above normal - was yet another exceptional day in this winter of our warm content. Today will be similarly delightful with highs again near 60 under mostly sunny skies. Westerly breezes up to 25 mph will shift in the overnight hours however as a cold front moves in from the Ohio Valley. While no precipitation is expected from the frontal passage, Sunday will be a cooler day with highs in the upper 40s; still, it will be milder than your usual January 8th! With cold Canadian air continuing to stay in its country of origin, the coming week will feature more relatively mild days with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s. The next chance of precipitation comes on Wednesday when rain showers are likely; only in the higher elevation to the west will upslope snow showers be possible. Some colder air is expected at week's end, but as happened earlier this week, the chill will be a brief visitor. Models show that warmer air will quickly return to its accustomed place in this unusual season. Enjoy your Saturday!
