High pressure makes for plenty of sun today but snowflakes are in the forecast for tomorrow.

This Afternoon: Mostly Sunny, Mild

Highs: Mid 50s | Wind: NW 4-8

Overnight: Mostly Cloudy, Cool

Lows: 30s | Wind: NE 4-8

High pressure is hanging on to the region today with sunny skies and mild temperatures in the 50s. Tonight, lows will fall through the 30s and clouds will stream in overhead. Wednesday will feature a disturbance which will bring the chance for light snow after the morning commute closer to lunch time. Light snow will be possible through the afternoon before ending tomorrow evening. Accumulations should only be on the order of an inch with isolated areas closer to 2 inches. Most snow should accumulate on the grass and not the roadways as they should remain above freezing.

Sunshine and milder temperatures will return Thursday with highs in the upper 40s. Friday will be pleasant with highs near 50 degrees under sunny skies. A strong cold front is expected to push through the region early Saturday morning bringing much colder air into the Mid Atlantic for the weekend. At this time, high temperatures may not exceed the upper 30s Saturday and Sunday.
