Despite a full day of sunshine today, a central plains storm system will affect our weekend weather.
TODAY: Sunny and pleasant
Highs: Near 50° | Wind: N 5
TOMORROW: Morning sunshine, afternoon clouds, rain or mix overnight
High: around 50 degrees Winds: North 5 mph
SUNDAY: Morning precip ending...becoming partly cloudy
Highs: Upper 40s° | Wind: N 5-10 mph
Atmospheric high pressure will give the entire region a sunny and pleasant day. Skies will remain mostly clear tonight and early tomorrow. But during the day, Saturday, look for a slow but steady increase in cloudiness. This will be in response to a low pressure system moving through the Ohio Valley. Most operational computer models keep the storm moving eastward...moving along the VA/NC border. If this track is correct, most preciptation will remain south of Washington...it will be a close call on exactly how close to the region the preciptation will get. I must say there is a chance that some light rain or wintry mix could make it as far north as Washington.
Any precipitation will end Sunday morning and skies will clear during the afternoon. Still no hint of bitterly cold air heading this way but it will get a bit colder by the end of next week.
