Wow….what a great day of weather for the first day of March. The average high temperature today is 51 degrees and the actual high will be some 18 degrees above average. In fact, the temperatures we experienced today are equivalent to average high temperatures we experience in the middle of April. But it’s just a tease. Much cooler weather will arrive Sunday and Monday. Skies will be clear tonight and it will turn noticeably colder.
Sunshine will hang around a while tomorrow until the cloudiness, in advance of the next cold front, rolls in during the afternoon. Showers are possible tomorrow night. But it will be the overnight from Friday into Saturday morning and through Saturday morning, when the cold front crosses the region, that we will have the best chance for more widespread showers. Some will be heavy downpours with gusty winds. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible, temperatures will reach the 60s then fall off during the late afternoon. Cooler weather arrives on Sunday and will remain through Tuesday. High temperatures on Monday and Tuesday are forecast to be below average…something we have not seen too often this winter.
