As high pressure builds across the mid-Atlantic, skies will clear overnight allowing temperatures to fall into the middle 40s to lower 50s. Conditions will be sunny, but breezy on Monday with afternoon highs approaching the middle 60s. Wind gusts may exceed 30 miles per hour by afternoon.
Diminishing winds and clear skies will allow for a dramatic drop in temperatures Monday night. Lows are expected near freezing and the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for the area. The coldest temperatures are likely to be north and west of the District.
Highs will only be in the 50s on Tuesday with milder air Wednesday followed by a cold front.
