The “ Clipper System” that dropped substantial snowfall on parts of Virginia has departed. In its wake, a large area of high pressure will begin moving into our area tonight. This will result in clear skies and very chilly temperatures. Mostly sunny skies will be widespread tomorrow and Wednesday along with a steady warming trend. On Thursday, a cold front will be just to our west. This will result in impressive warming due to south and southwesterly winds. A cold front will pass through the region on Friday with a chance of showers and somewhat cooler temperatures.
