A large area of high pressure is parked offshore of the mid-Atlantic. It continues to produce moderate southerly winds that will continue to draw unseasonably mild air northward across the region. Low temperatures will remain in the 40s overnight in response to these winds. Skies will be partly sunny tomorrow as the mild air continues to flow into the area on the back side of that high pressure system and just ahead of an approaching cold front. Afternoon temperatures will be around 70 degrees. The cold front will cross the region before sunrise Friday and may produce scattered showers. Gusty northwesterly winds will produce a partly cloudy and cooler day on Friday. Looking ahead to the weekend. Skies will be mostly sunny on Saturday with highs in the lower 50s. Skies will be partly cloudy on Sunday but temperatures will be warmer….around 60 degrees. Another sustained warming will continue through next week.
Another reminder we return to Daylight Saving Time early Sunday morning when we turn clocks ahead 1 hour. The sunrise will be an hour later Sunday morning and sunset will be an hour later Sunday evening. And this means we will lose one hour of sleep. This is a good time to change batteries in the smoke detectors in your house.
