Snowflakes and showers have been common today but temperatures should reach the 80 degree mark come Sunday.

Tonight: Clearing Skies

Lows: 30s to Near 40 | Wind: NW 10 m.p.h.

Thursday: A Few Clouds, Breezy

Highs: Near 60 | Wind: NW 10-20 m.p.h.

Friday: Mostly Sunny & Warmer

Highs: Mid 60s | Wind: W 5-10 m.p.h.

That stubborn, elongated area of low pressure that has been hanging around is in its final day of influence over our weather. It has produced this changeable day with considerable cloudiness, breezy and very cool conditions and scattered showers and even some snowflakes well north and west of Washington. Skies will clear tonight and sunshine will return tomorrow as high pressure returns to the region. It will be a bit breezy still tomorrow and temperatures will remain just a bit below normal. By Friday, as the high pressure center moves to the east, we will start to see a noticeable warm up. Temperatures will climb into the middle 60s. Over the weekend, we will be on the western side of the high pressure system and if you like warm weather…that’s the place to be. We are forecasting partly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 70s on Saturday and near 80 degrees on Sunday.
