An area of high pressure will continue to swing warmer air across the mid-Atlantic for the start of the work and school week. Overnight temperatures will fall to the middle 50s to lower 60s allowing for a quick warm-up Monday with highs well into the 80s.
A weak and mainly dry cold front will approach the region late Monday night, eventually stalling across North Carolina Tuesday and Wednesday. Daytime highs will fall from the middle 70s to the upper 60s midweek. Looking ahead to the extended outlook, some models bring a risk for severe weather to the area by late Friday and into Saturday.
