It has been a very pleasant weather day with lots of sunshine and gusty breezes. Clouds will be increasing tonight though in advance of a warm from that will approach the region before sunrise tomorrow morning. Showers and isolated thunderstorms will accompany the front as it passes through. During the day tomorrow, winds will shift to the southwest in the warmer air mass that will develop behind the warm front. Temperatures will climb well into the 70s. There could be some periods of sunshine into the afternoon but will continue the forecast of mostly cloudy skies for the time being. Late tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening as a cold front approaches the area, more showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop.
By Friday, partly to mostly sunny and cooler conditions will prevail. Over the weekend, the cold front will become stationary across southern Virginia. We expect a couple of waves of low pressure to move along that boundary and it is possible that scattered showers could move through the region at times on Saturday and into Sunday morning. Drier, more settled conditions will develop later Sunday and last well into next week.
