As high pressure moves out of the region today, a warm front will approach from the west and southwest. As a result, we will see periods of cloudiness and sunshine.  Later today though, the clouds will win out and isolated showers could move through the area. By tomorrow, you will feel the effect of the warm frontal passage as temperatures climb close to 80 degrees. There will also be a 60% chance of mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday it will feel like late July with partly cloudy, hot and more humid conditions overspreading the area. There will also be a resident 30% chance of mainly late afternoon thunderstorms. And temperatures...afternoon readings will approach 90 degrees in many areas.

Looking ahead to the weekend...the first weekend of May...temperatures will likely remain well above average. But humidity levels may drop a bit with partly cloudy skies. High temperatures may fall back into the lower to middle 80s.
