Nice to see the sun after all of the heavy rains and thunderstorms last evening and night. The air is still a bit unstable but the storms today should not be as widespread as yesterday. For the coming weekend high pressure and stable air will give us plenty of sun, lather up the sunblock on everyone the sun is very strong, but a slight risk of afternoon thunderstorms. Beach weather still looks fine but an easterly wind and water temperatures in the 60s will keep the beaches cool while around DC the temperatures soar to 90 by Memorial Day. The new outlook from NOAA about the upcoming hurricane season has just been released here.
