The beneficial rain moved out this morning but after some midday sunshine, more showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon. Rainfall totals between 1 and 2 inches have been reported and have made up some ground on the significant rainfall deficit that is widespread throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Temperatures will climb well into the 70s today and will likely reach the 80s tomorrow. But tomorrow will also feature a cold front that will give us one more chance this week for showers and thunderstorms.
Much drier air will arrive on Thursday. In fact, Thursday and Friday will be beautiful with partly to mostly suuny skies and highs in the upper 70s. Right now, the weekend is looking good with our forecast of partly cloudy skies with highs around 80 degrees.
