Happy Friday! The calendar and the atmosphere are finally on the same page. Skies will be mostly sunny today and temperatures will be right where they should be for this time in May...in the lower to middle 70s. High pressure will keep skies mostly sunny again tomorrow and as the center-line or ridge of this system drifts eastward, we will pick up a gentle southwesterly wind. This will warm afternoon temperatures close to 80 degrees in most areas. On Sunday, Mother's Day, there will be plenty of sunshine in the morning but it is looking more and more likely clouds will be increasing during the day. There is also a slight chance of a few afternoon showers especially west of Washington. Hopefully, this next weather system will slow down and keep all of Sunday dry, everywhere. We will see about that.
By Monday and Tuesday, skies will be partly to occasionally mostly cloudy with increasing chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms. BTW, MD, DE ,VA beaches will be sunny all weekend.
