Sunny skies this afternoon will lead to clear skies tonight. Temperatures will become chilly as we head overnight but should be warmer for the day tomorrow.

Tonight: Clear & Cool

Lows: 44-53 | Wind: NW 3-5

Saturday: Sunny & Warmer

Highs: Around 80 | Wind: SW 5-10

Sunday: Partly Sunny, Stray Shower Possible

Highs: Around 80 | Wind: SW 5-10

A strong area of high pressure is responsible for the absolutely beautiful day we are enjoying. The center of this system will move to the east tonight. As a result, the winds will diminish and with the air mass so dry, it will be another chilly night. Tomorrow will be sunny and warmer thanks to a westerly wind…a fairly light wind but blowing from a direction that will allow temperatures to rise above average for the first time in a while.

On Sunday, I expect mostly sunny skies to quickly become partly cloudy. Temperatures will rise once again close to 80 degrees. It will also become a bit more humid thanks to the winds backing to the southwest. I also think it is possible a scattered shower or two could develop later Sunday afternoon. This scenario is by no means likely but it cannot be ruled out.

By Monday and Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms will become likely as another slow moving cold front approaches our area. Going to the Maryland or Delaware beaches this weekend? It will be sunny and mild with highs around 70 degrees. Latest report from Ocean City, MD says the ocean water temperature is 59 degrees.
