D.C. forecast: brief cool down, followed by near 100° heat by late next week

Sunday: Mostly Sunny, PM Showers Possible

Highs: 84°-89° | Wind: Southwest 5-10 mph

Mainly clear skies are expected overnight with temperatures in the middle 60s to lower 70s. High pressure moves away from the area Sunday as a cold front begins to approach from the west. Late day showers will be possible along with a few thunderstorms. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s.

The cold front will pass Monday bringing yet another chance for showers and thunderstorms. Depending on the timing of the front, most the the activity should be gone by early afternoon. A cooler air mass arrives Tuesday and Wednesday, but get ready, another blast of super hot air on the way by Friday!
