Searching for different ways to say "pleasant" has been about the only challenge in describing the weather of this past week. With high pressure and cool breezes from the northeast, we have been treated to a delightful string of days that have been remarkably similar. Under mostly sunny skies, highs have varied little from the 80 degree mark and humidity levels have stayed low throughout the period. That pattern won't change this weekend as two more days of slightly cooler than normal readings and mostly sunny skies are in the forecast.
But this last official weekend of spring will soon yield to the gathering heat that is building to our west. While Monday will still be mild with just a slight chance of showers, hotter and more humid air is expected on Tuesday with highs in the upper 80s. June will likely drop all benign pretenses on Wednesday as summer officially kicks in. Look for the mercury to soar well into the 90s on Wednesday and not drop much for the rest of the week. Only a few showers and storms are likely late in the week to give us some relief from what could be the hottest stretch of the year. The sizzle on the horizon is all the more reason to appreciate and enjoy this wonderfully mild Father's Day weekend!
