The heat and humidity will stick around until a cold front arrives later today. Highs ahead of the front will jump into the upper 80s in the mountains to lower to middle 90s in the District and points eastward. Clouds will increase ahead of the cold front and may bring powerful thunderstorms with gusty winds. Behind the front, expect low humidity levels and a more comfortable air mass.
