High pressure will continue to move away from the region as more unsettled conditions approach from the west. Cloud cover will increase during the day, especially across the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge where showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop. Most of the Delmarva should remain dry this morning and afternoon. Highs in the mountains are expected in the middle 80s, lower 90s near the bay. Increased humidity will make it feel a bit sticky and uncomfortable, but manageable for this time of year. Periods of heavy rain with imbedded thunderstorms arrive overnight and into tomorrow with highs in the lower 80s. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds, heavy rain and flooding. 1" to 2" will be possible by the time the entire system exits the mid-Atlantic.
