High pressure...that will eventually provide us with a string of sunny and dry days...is interacting with an area of low pressure well east of the Outer Banks. This is forcing a steady flow of northeastly winds off the Atlantic Ocean. The result will be periods of cloudiness mixing with sunshine and slightly below average temperatures. By tomorrow, the winds will veer a bit more easterly at slower speeds. This will allow more sunshine and the radiant warmth of the strongest sun of the year will push temperatures to at least 80 degrees.
Over the weekend and continuing on Monday, we see a beautiful pattern developing that will feature sunny skies, comfortable humidity levels and highs just below average. On Tuesday and Wednesday, as the high pressure shifts just a bit, temperatures and humidity levels will increase. More typical summer conditions will return. Enjoy this gift from Mother Nature while it lasts.
