D.C. Weather Forecast: Heat Advisory on Wednesday
Tonight: Mainly Clear, Warm and Muggy
Lows: 70s | Wind: Light
Wednesday: Mostly Sunny, Hot and Humid
Highs: Mid 90s | Heat Index: 100 degrees
Thursday: Hot & Humid
Highs: Upper 90s | Heat Index: Lower 100s
The heat returned today with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s under mostly sunny skies. Tonight will be muggy and warm with lows in the 70s. Temperatures will skyrocket into the mid 90s tomorrow. With dew points around 70, heat index values will rise to near 100 degrees, making it dangerous to go outdoors for a prolonged period of time, especially if you are doing strenuous activity.
Thursday may be even hotter with highs in the upper 90s under mostly sunny skies. I would imagine another Heat Advisory would be posted for Thursday as well with heat indicies expected to reach the lower 100s. Friday. a cold front will move into the region by the afternoon bringing with it the chance for storms. Ahead of the front, highs should reach the lower 90s. The weekend ahead will feature slightly cooler temperatures with highs in the upper 80s each day.
