The area of low pressure over New England is finally starting to move farther north. As this happens, the door is open to a couple atmospheric systems to move across our area. The result will be a slow warming trend today and tomorrow and a continuing chance of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Skies may brighten more often than the past couple days but periods of cloudiness will continue until Friday when high pressure finally builds back across the region.
Over the weekend, the high pressure center will pass east of Washington. This will return very warm and eventually more humid air to the area. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s on Saturday and near 90 degrees on Sunday. And latest computer model guidance suggests it will be a dry weekend with widespread sunshine.
