Venice Tornado
Folks in Venice, Italy got quite a shock Tuesday morning when a tornado/waterspout barrelled through Sant'Erasmo island around 11 AM local time on June 12, 2012. Take a look at the tornado video below.
The tornado caused a good bit of damage, ripping off roofs, tearing down trees, and flipping sailboats over (see picture below).
One minor injury was reported, but the tornado/waterspout did not cross the city center, thankfully.

Italy does not experience frequent tornadoes. The deadliest tornado on record to hit Italy occurred back in 1970.
