D.C. area weather forecast: A Scorching Afternoon
This Afternoon: Sunny, Very Hot and Humid, Risk T'storms Late Especially North
Highs: 94-99 | Heat Index: Near 100
Overnight: Partly Cloudy, Warm and Humid
Lows: 76-82 | Rain: 30% Chance Showers Again Late
Friday: Partly Cloudy, Hot and Humid, Risk PM T'storms
Highs: 93-98 | Heat Index: Near 100
The morning clouds left over from nighttime storms to our north shielded us from the morning sun. But the heat and humidity are sure back this afternoon. Temperatures should stay below 100º because of the morning clouds but with the humidity it will still feel close to 100º. Later today the highest threat for some nasty storms is to our north across Pennsylvania and some could also develop to our west so keep an eye on Live Doppler. Anything really gets going and we'll be live blogging as always. The heat and a weather front getting closer to us combine to give us a higher risk of thunderstorms Friday into Saturday but I still think another break in searing heat and humidity comes in late Saturday for more pleasant weather Sunday
