Plenty of clouds around as we close the book on what will be the second hottest month in Washington weather records. July 2012 only 0.5º "cooler" than last July and more than 4º above the long term average. August off to a quiet start with a weak area of high pressure over us and temperatures near average. A weak weather front coming our way will bring the risk of some afternoon thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and then we settle into an August pattern of moderate humidity and temperatures near 90º and a risk of some isolated afternoon thunderstorms. But how about a guarantee . . .August will not be as hot as July
