Right now July is 9° above average. After 11 days with highs above 90 degrees and 5 of them over 100 degrees, a break from the sweltering heat!  The average high for D.C. from now until July 22 is 89 degrees and D.C. made it to "only" 87 degrees today. 

The cool front that brought today's relief will stay to our south and be the focus, as today of some afternoon thunderstomrs, most should stay to the south until late week.  By this coming weekend, highs will climb back to around 90 degrees with an increasing risk  showers and thunderstorms.
