Wednesday: Partly cloudy, hot and humid with scattered thunderstorms
Highs: 90°-95° | Wind: W/SW 4-8 mph
Today will be the 6th consecutive day of high temperatures above 90 degrees. And humidity levels will be increasing throughout the day, as well. Only isolated thunderstorm chances later today and tonight, especially west of the metro area.
For the Fourth of July...it will be partly cloudy, hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s. But it will feel warmer because of the increase in humidity levels. Thunderstorms are a concern tomorrow because of the traditionally large crowds that will be gathering on the Mall and at many other venues across the region. We do not have an especially good handle on the timing of thunderstorm activity tomorrow. Late morning and mid day storms are possible. It is also possible storms will hold off until the late afternoon or evening. And there is also a chance the storms will just miss the metro area. Sorry we cannot be more precise right now.
Temperatures return to the upper 90s on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
