A frontal boundary will move north from the Carolinas tonight and ahead of it the region has already been under plenty of clouds. This has led to some cooler temperatures than yesterday with highs this afternoon in the mid to upper 80s. A few showers will be possible along and west of the Blue Ridge. Tonight will feature mostly cloudy skies and the continued chance for a few showers as a warm front pushes through the region.

Saturday will be partly sunny, hot and humid, with highs around the 90 degree mark. A few thunderstorms will be possible by the afternoon. Sunday will be a touch warmer in the lower 90s with an additional chance for a few storms in the afternoon. Looking ahead to next week, the heat looks to firmly position itself over the area with highs in the mid to upper 90s through next Thursday.
