High heat and humidity will lead to heat index values above 100 degrees today.

This Afternoon: Hot & Humid, Stray PM Storm

Highs: Near 100 | Heat Index: 105°+

Tonight: Mostly Clear and Warm

Lows: 70s | Wind: N 5 m.p.h.

Friday: Mostly Sunny, Hot & Humid

Highs: Near 100 | Heat Index: 105°+

The heat and humidity will be the big story today with highs near 100 degrees and heat indicies in the 105 degree range or higher. There is a chance for a few storms but at this time our team thinks they will be isolated in nature. Any storm that does develop will have the potential to be strong to severe. Tonight, lows will fall into the 70s under mostly clear skies. Friday will be hot and humid once again with highs near 100 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

The heat will hang around through Saturday with highs one last time near 100 before falling back into the mid 90s on Sunday. A frontal system will push through the area Sunday leading to the chance for thunderstorms Sunday afternoon. COOLER air will settle back into the area next week with highs in the 80s in the forecast throughout the work week.
