The main frontal boundary remains south of D.C. allowing for the bulk of the rain and clouds to spread over southern Virginia and through North Carolina. There will still be enough instability for an isolated thundershower across the region but overall the majority of the area will stay dry. Highs should reach the upper 80s. Tonight will be warm and muggy with lows in the lower 70s.
Wednesday will feature partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 80s. There is a slight chance for an isolated storm. More of the same is expected on Thursday with highs again in the upper 80s. Rain chances will increase Friday through the weekend as a couple waves of energy move closer to the D.C. area. Temperatures will be a little warmer by the weekend with highs around 90 degrees and storm chances appear like they will remain across the D.C. area through early next week.
