We've closed the book on the second hottest July and month in Washington weather records.  A hot August pattern ahead and the tropics are beginning to get active too.  By later in the weekend a weather front increases our risk of afternoon thunderstorms.  Overall most of the next few days will be sunny and hot but always a risk of some pop up afternoon thunderstorms especially out toward the mountains.  Keep cool, by late August the average high down to 85°
