D.C. Forecast: Showers & storms likely with some strong to severe

We will close out the week on a wet note with the potential for strong to severe storms later today.

Friday: Muggy; Showers & Storms Likely; Some Severe & Heavy

Highs: Mid 80s | Wind: Variable 5-10

Saturday: AM Showers; Variable Cloudiness; Some T-Showers May Linger South & East

Highs: Mid 80s | Wind: SSW 5-10

Sunday: Mostly Sunny; Nice & Comfortable

Highs: Mid 80s | Wind: W 5-10

An upper level disturbance will continue to move off to the north and east and will exit the region later this morning. At the same time a cold front will approach from the west and will slowly push through later in the day Saturday. After the rain this morning departs there will be a break before more widespread showers and storms develop along and ahead of the approaching cold front. There is a slight chance that some of the storms may become strong to severe. The main threats are damaging winds and potential localized flooding.
