While high heat builds across the Plains, D.C. will be on the fringe of the extreme warmth and experience typical early August weather. Expect sunshine and patchy clouds today with high heat and humidity as temperatures max out in the low 90s. Temperatures will reach their warmest tomorrow with a high around 95° and heat index close to 105 degrees. We’ll fall about a few degrees shy of any records. The best threat for storms will be across the Blue Ridge and Alleghenies through Friday. One or two could move east of the mountains and impact the immediate Metro Area. The better threat in the District is on Sunday and Monday as a weak cool front tries to break down the bit of heat that will build through late this week. Have a great day!
