Ongoing overnight storms continue to lift through the area this morning, some of which are heavy rain producers. As the cold front crawls closer today, we will continue to have the threat for storms, some of which could contain gusty winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall. However cloud-cover will be the key, and dependent on the amount of sunshine that breaks through will help determine our afternoon severe potential.
The front will be a slow-mover with lingering thundershowers possible early Saturday, and while most of the area should clear, a lingering threat of a few showers and storms will persist through the afternoon south and east of the city. Once the front finally heads eastward Saturday night, high pressure will bring drier and more comfortable weather into the area for part two of the weekend. Sunday looks great with a partly cloudy skies, low humidity and seasonable highs in the mid-upper 80s. Enjoy this nice weather because the heat and humidity will begin to creep back Monday with another chance of storms Tuesday.
