As high pressure continues to build across the area, we will enjoy another mostly sunny day featuring warm and dry air. The air will warm even further tomorrow as temperatures soar into the lower and middle 90s but humidity levels will remain comfortably low. On Saturday, high pressure will setlle to our south. This will increase humidity levels and cause a few more clouds. That leads us into Sunday and Monday...it will become more humid as southwestly winds deliver moist air to the region. An approaching cold front and the remnant circulation of Issac may combine to produce showers and thunderstorms at times from Sunday afternoon through Monday evening. This is not a done deal but it clearly seems that Saturday will be the best day of the holiday weekend for pools, the beach and other outdoor activities.
Tropical Storm Issac is located about 125 miles NW of New Orleans and progressing NW at 8mph. Current maximum sustained winds are at 45mph. And the torrential rain being produced by Issac continues to spread northward, as well.
