D.C. Weather Forecast: Stray storms this afternoon

Tonight: Mostly Clear, Warm and Muggy
Lows: 70s | Wind: S 3-5 m.p.h.
Friday: Partly Cloudy, Stray PM Storms
Highs: Mid 90s | Wind: S 5-10 m.p.h.
A few storms have developed in a relatively unstable airmass east of the Blue Ridge. These storms should be short-lived but will have the capability of spreading some locally heavy rainfall and may produce some lightning as well. Highs will settle in the lower 90s this afternoon. Tonight, storms will come to an end and conditions will be warm and muggy with lows in the 70s. Friday will be hot and humid to end the work week with an additional chance for a few stray storms.
The weekend ahead will continue to feature a chance for storms as well as hot and humid conditions. Saturday will reach the lower 90s with a good chance for storms in the mountains by the afternoon. The storm threat will spread east towards the D.C. area on Sunday with highs again in the lower 90s.
