A typical early August weather pattern continues with a weak area of high pressure keeping skies partly to mostly clear overnight. Tomorrow will feature a little more sunshine, slightly warmer temperatures and a better chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
On Friday, an area of low pressure and its attendant cold front will approach our region. As it encounters, the very warm, humid and somewhat stable air mass, thunderstorms will be the likely result. Some of these storms will be strong to severe. Showers could linger across parts of the area Saturday morning as the cold front slowly heads towards the coast. Drier and a bit cooler…a bit more seasonable weather...will return Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
