D.C. Weather Forecast: Strong storms in the forecast Friday
Tonight: Storms Possible
Lows: 70s | Wind: S 4-8 m.p.h.
Friday: Partly Sunny, T-Storms Likely, Possibly Severe
Highs: Upper 80s | Precipitation: 80%
Saturday: Morning Clouds, Afternoon Clearing, Cooler
Highs: Mid 80s | Precipitation: 30% AM
A hot and humid air mass remains in place across the region. Overnight more showers and thunderstorms may approach the area. Downpours and thunder and lightning will be possible with any storms that develop.
Tomorrow could be a very active weather day as a strong cold front moves into our area and interacts with the very warm and humid air mass in place. The result will be the likely development of showers and thunderstorms. It still appears that these storms will be strong to severe. The one wild card we are dealing with in forecasting for tomorrow is how much sunshine we will see. The more sunshine…the better the chances of severe weather…the less sunshine, the less the chances will be. In any case, showers could linger through Saturday morning. High pressure will build back into the area Saturday afternoon and Sunday with drier and slightly cooler air.
