Cool and crisp air will settle into the region today with plenty of sunshine.

This Afternoon: Mostly Sunny and Nice

Highs: Around 70 | Wind: NW 4-8 m.p.h.

Tonight: Mostly Clear and Chilly

Lows: Low 40s to Low 50s | Wind: Light

Tuesday: Mostly Sunny, A Touch Warmer

Highs: Mid 70s | Wind: S 5 m.p.h.

High pressure is still in control of the region for the start of the work week. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs only around 70 degrees this afternoon. Tonight will be clear and chilly with lows in the 40s in the suburbs to low 50s inside the Beltway. Temperatures should warm a bit tomorrow with highs back into the mid 70s under mostly sunny skies.

A cold front will approach the area on Wednesday and remain overhead through the end of the work week. This will allow for a few showers in the area on Wednesday, a break in the action Thursday, and possibly some more steady rain on Friday. At this point, Wednesday looks to be the warmest day this week with highs in the lower 80s, falling back into the mid 70s Thursday and Friday.
